My career didn’t start with a Lean handbook or a polished training program, but with an internship at a wallpaper factory that had been around for over 100 years. A remarkable company with a rich history, yet with processes that had gradually frayed over time.

During that internship, I noticed something: a warehouse filled with inventory gathering dust. Products originally intended for quick turnover, but due to missing processes and signals, they kept piling up. There was no structure to resolve it — let alone prevent it from happening again.

Instead of quietly accepting the situation, I developed a plan behind the scenes. I designed a model to visualize inventory buildup, conducted a deep analysis of the issue, calculated the financial impact, and created a proposal with a clear approach. Slides, logic, an impact analysis. Then I approached the CEO.

Not with a request for permission — but with a proposal for how to solve it.

A week later, I was on the management team’s agenda. Six months later, the model was implemented and fully operational.

That experience still defines the core of how I work:

✔ Curious about why things are the way they are
✔ Unafraid to challenge assumptions
✔ Always focused on tangible progress

Today, I’m building WijVerbeteren together with Jurgen and Frank. Three professionals with diverse backgrounds, but a shared mindset: no door, title, or hierarchy stops us when we see opportunities to improve.

I’m a hands-on and curious professional with a background in construction engineering and technical business administration. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by how processes can be improved — made smarter, more efficient, and more human — whether in construction, industry, or professional services.

What defines me? I value clarity. No politics, no vague narratives. Say what you do, and do what you say. I work in a structured way, have zero tolerance for inefficiency, and find great satisfaction in improving teams, systems, and processes. My leadership style is grounded in logic and dialogue, rather than authoritarian gestures.

After years of experience in diverse projects — from managing construction initiatives to redesigning processes and implementing ERP systems — I’ve learned that real change starts with listening, understanding, and only then taking action. I apply this approach to every project I take on.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about sports like hockey and tennis, enjoy hands-on home improvement, and value quality time with my partner Anne. Together, we enjoy cooking, traveling, and appreciating the little things that make life meaningful.

I love making the impossible possible — that’s where the magic happens. The more challenging or complex the circumstances, the more I thrive and fully commit myself. I enjoy presenting unexpected and out-of-the-box solutions to get things done.

I’m all about clarity and simplicity — because that’s how real progress happens. I believe in honest, content-focused communication — even when it’s tough, never personal. But it’s always intended to encourage reflection and offer the opportunity for personal or organizational growth. I believe people grow when they take ownership — that’s where real change begins.

Years of managing international projects at the intersection of IT and business — including specialized IT initiatives and departments — have taught me that people generally act with the best intentions, but don’t always have the resources to succeed.Years of managing international projects at the intersection of IT and business — including specialized IT initiatives and departments — have taught me that people generally act with the best intentions, but don’t always have the resources to succeed. That’s why I support organizations and individuals in putting my core principle — from the very first line — into practice.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and engaged. I play tennis, enjoy scuba diving both in the Netherlands and abroad, and like to go hiking. Feel free to reach out — even if it’s just for a coffee or a chat on the terrace. I also enjoy traveling with my wife Lisanne to explore different cultures, and I value spending quality time together as a family.
